I did get caught up with low ratings. This is one of my favorite new apps. I initially rated this app five stars. It is rich with news resources and you can add your own custom news words. Then two or three weeks ago, most junk-type news seemed to be a bit more dominant. It was a lot of click bait news type. The developer might not have that much control. However, it would so refreshing to see it stay a good news source. Please minimize click bait. I will update in a few weeks

I love the fact this app provides multiple points of view and allows you to slide to the right or the left to read topics more thoroughly. I agree with the other reviewers that it's annoying when I'm reading an article and it "updates" moving on so that I can't finish the article. Perhaps it would work better if it only updated when you return to the main page?? Thank you SmartNews.. You have allowed me to present news so that my wife is interested and because of that she registered and voted!

You can easily add and remove whatever networks and news outlets you choose. I have NY Times, abc, nbc, cbs, Washington Post, Miami Herald, CNN, and many more. So easy it's a pleasure to use. Some of the choices are owned by people like Sinclair at channel 10 in Providence. You will want to turn off the alerts they are pesty.

I won't read the advertisement stories with the blue boxes. Everything else are well reported stories, always pay attention to the sources. SmartNews and NPR are my go to news aps. They are both a lot better than the network news ( abc, nbc, cbs, fox etc.). SmartNews is most often the first to have breaking news also. The news stories here and also BBC and NPR most generally prove to be the most accurate also.

It's a decent news app however I wish you can modify the top news seeing way too many celebrity news which I really don't care and don't want to know nothing about. It's full of ads as well just gotta be careful on which news articles you tap on you can tell the difference between ad and real news. All in all its pretty decent just gotta tweak the top news that's my only downside of this app.
